But they are funny.
Imagine for just a minute that these shoes are comfortable; wouldn't it be funny to parade around in them like some sort of retro-porn gangster? I can imagine a classier version of Barbara Windsor wearing brogues like these, a sort of ball-breaker femme fatale (just thought I'd dump in a couple of clichéd stereotypes there!) type person.
